Haiku Cardi/jacket

Thank you to the folks who commented so quickly and positively on the Haiku cardi - at last, a FO!!!

Pattern: Haiku, from Knitty

Yarn: Paton's Jet wool/alpaca, colour: 6, 3 balls (74m/50gm per ball)

Needles: 6mm bamboo circs

Variations: worked plain parts in stockingstitch, because it shows the colour variations much more clearly than the specified garter stitch; added a basketweave border at hem by picking up a stitch for every row - made it flare nicely! also basketweave cuffs; thinking of picking up around the neckline for a purl-side collar - it's curling a little because of the stockingstitch.

Problems: fast, furious and not-very-finicky finishing - if it bothers me enough, I'll unpick and re-sew the left sleeve - armhole seam is too tight!

Verdict - soft, stretchy, superfast knit, very easy, though if I did it in variegated wool again I might make it cuff-to-cuff, so that the colours line up over the shoulders, and no setting sleeves!! The Jet is very very soft, and warm, but a little hairy; it flops beautifully on 6mm needles.
