Hmm, that write now, post later thing isn't possible with This Blog Host - wonder if any of the competitors have it??
Anyway, I've been away, graduating from my FIVE YEARS of part time study to acquire a Masters of Applied Science in Teacher Librarianship. You would think that with studying now over with, I'd have more time up my sleeve, wouldn't you? ha. double ha.
BUT I managed to create an FO on my trip!
Behold! Harriette's Socks, from the Mini-Basketweave Socks by Stitches of Violet.
Yarn: Shepherd Colour 4 Me 8 ply, colour 4981, a red/orange/crimson mix that you may have seen before :)
Time taken: ??? 2nd sock took 3 hours, maybe a little more - I was a bit distracted, doing it in little snatches here and there, grafting (very badly) the toe on the way to the airport on Sunday, so maybe 6 or 7 hours, sock 1 at Christmas, sock 2 in April.
Lessons learnt? WRITE DOWN THE NEEDLE SIZE - had to hunt for needles for ages before I figured out what I had used!!!

No more, no more, no more, no more
Uni is no more!!!
All done!! In, uploaded, OVER!!! I will accept that having been less than my usual committed self, the marks may be less than awesome, but as my girlfriend told me last year, at this stage, P=degree, which will mean a graduation celebration in two months!!! (do I really have to clean up the rumpus room now??)
So last night, in front of House and Medium, there was this>>>
Which is good, because large parts of this morning have been taken up with this>>>
V has had a temp the last few days, and is very easily overset this morning, thus me reading blogs in the arrangement above. (How cool is my Mac?? I can take pictures with one finger!!!)
Ooh! and I got some sleeeeeeeeep - 5 hours in a row!! TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!!!
Today, I did not get up cranky!!! It just gets better and better :)
Jae! Stop that right now!!! I am saving the rhymes-with-Tan-Bucket for this afternoon, when V goes to sleep - no more nudging!!

What's goin' on?
Well, assignment stuff is all but OVER - bring on graduation!!!
And to celebrate??
Why, I FOUND MY KNITTING!!!
And then.....
I cast-on some toddler socks!
"mini-thuja", based on the seed-stitch rib of the blogalicious Thuja, in Heirloom Jigsaw colour 27. And yes, that is the yarn I used for the JackJumpers :) Isn't it just so lovely and loud???

I knit with Grey's
Well, I will when I find my Clapotis again, and anyway, how could I commit to knitting in front of the first show of the new season?? On a really hot day??? I did tape it though, so maybe I can do a re-view with knitting in front, and finally get around to grabbing that button. I also taped Ugly Betty, which they put on first - my hubby thinks it's aimed at 14yr old girls, I think maybe uni students avoiding assignments (who, me??) will be a major demographic - after all, 7.30 Sunday night - leftovers and getting ready for Monday: they really need a good distraction, don't they? Practically a public service!
ahem.
Yes. Well. No, I haven't had 8 hours sleep a night for the past week or so, (or indeed the past 7 months) and recently, between V's lovely teeth and trying to get this DRATTED uni degree FINISHED and not having a study anymore and life in general, some activities (such as housecleaning and sleep) have become somewhat more optional than is normally the case.
[Pause to pick up v. sad V who fell over - yes, 8 months old and she is pulling herself up on everything and stamping her feet in an ominous way. And she has produced something that smells like it should be cleaned up before we go any further]
[Further pause to answer phone reminding me of dentist visit tomorrow - must arrange childcare]
[V crying again - hit step??? Must go change, soothe and get ready for playgroup - need to get out of the house!!!]
ANYWAY, when I get my uni assign in (last ever!), I shall get some sleep (ha!) and time to knit (double ha!!) and there might even be something interesting to look at on this blog...
*sigh*
:)
